My Own Regimen
It’s obviously super anecdotal, but I wanted to share my own current regimen because I think it covers a lot of (what I consider to be 🙂 ) the basics [last updated 18 Jan, 2026]
- vitamin D, zinc, curcumin, + probiotics; plus this MSM product, plus L-Histidine
- clean frequently with hypochlorous acid
- switch to aleppo soap
- alternate between moisturizing and not moisturizing, depending on what seems to be working. Right now I massage liberally with calendula infused beef tallow (refer to product page)
- Derma Root <- just discovered as of 11/09/2025; this stuff is great. (I’m not a sponsor I just really like the product and want to share.)
- celery juice every morning on an empty stomach [per Anthony Williams — kind of controversial but I think he has some points]
- during active flares: eliminate alcohol, coffee, dairy, and follow diet and supplement advice per Karen Fischer [Fischer’s elimination recs will only work if the trigger is salicylates; suggested foods and supplements are still worth considering either way]
- meditation
- air purifier
- shower head filter
- humidifier in the winter
update 01/19/2026: I got a terrible flareup during christmas while visiting home, where I have a lot of allergies :/ I learned that my scalp, face, and neck area is most likely seborrheic dermatitis based on the way the skin is flaking off. I’m just starting out on this from an anti-yeast angle:
- last week I used just a dab of Nizoral (ketoconazole based) and washed my neck and face with it, and afterwards my skin felt significantly calmer.
- Nizoral seems pretty harsh, just based on smelling it etc, so I also got Happy Cappy, (pyrithione zinc based), and I used that today and will try using it as a shampoo and body wash over the next few days.
- I’ve been using Defensin spray for about two weeks. it’s not obvious if it’s contributing to any improvement I’m seeing or not. the product suggests using it for 90 days.
- I got a low pH lotion this afternoon called SebaMed which is supposed to help with Malassezia
- I’m going low carb right now as of three days ago (I do it off and on; if it’s a yeast thing it made sense to me to try it). I want to research diets that might specifically target yeast imbalance.
- Per a few people’s suggestions I’ve been taking extra l-lysine supplements [a quick GPT search suggests that this works because it balances out arginine levels. the tl;dr of this is that eating a diet that has protein sources that skew less plants and more meat and eggs is good if arginine levels are too high, because too much arginine can support yeast growth]
